WP2- from the need analysis to the equipment of the four laboratories.
We are officially entered into the second step of the project. This second step will move from the need analysis to the equipment of the four laboratories.
Thanks to the results of the need analysis, the instruments, tools that composed the equipment of the laboratories have been defined and, in few months, new laboratories will be set up at the University of Art of Tirana, The Polytechnic University of Tirana (UPT), University of Shkodra Luigj Gurakuqi, and the Akademia e Studimeve Albanologike.
New Technologies and instruments go with new skills and competencies, so alongside the equipment, technical training courses have been foreseen.
We are all facing difficulties due to the Covid19, as soon as will be possible, technical training will be organized to train the Albanian technical staff on how to use and maintain the new technologies. This is a crucial activity that can guarantee the exploitation of the project tools and knowledge gained through the Reach project after the end of three years of project activities.

As we predicted in the application form, the need analysis has confirmed the characterization of the laboratory as follow:
The University of Art of Tirana will be equipped to host conservation equipment for easel paintings and sculpture; The Polytechnic University of Tirana will be received architectural survey instruments; The Akademia e Studimeve Albanologike will the archaeological material non-invasive diagnosis and conservation, the chemical-physical diagnosis of cultural heritage material will be set at the Shkodra university.
